4 'The Walking Dead' cliffhangers just as bad as the finale

'The Walking Dead' finale aired almost a week ago now, but people are still losing their shit over the way that season 6 ended. After the most tense game of 'Eeny Miney Mo' that I've ever witnessed, Negan (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan) smashed his barbed wire bat over someones head until it turned into a pile of mush. Gruesome stuff. Except, none of us know who it was, which kinda sucks. And it seems that I'm not the only one who was slightly pissed at the way that season 6 ended, with huge amounts of backlash surfacing online, mainly directed at showrunner Scott Gimple. There was even a petition to get him fired, which so far has received several thousand signatures.

But as 'TWD' fans, we should know by now that the show quite often cops out with rubbish cliffhangers, and the season 6 finale definitely isn't the worse cliffhanger that we've had on the show (unless it turns out that nobody died and Negan was simply smashing up some melon for his 'Saviours' to enjoy). Here are 4 cliffhangers from the show that are just as bad, if not worse, than the season 6 finale:

Season 6 episode 3 - 'Thank You'

Arguably the worst cliffhanger that the show has ever had would be the now infamous 'Dumpster Scene' from 'Thank You'. Not only was it completely pointless (Glenn was totally fine guys) but it also took far to long to resolve. The only positive was that we got to see Nicholas blow his brains out (finally, that guy was annoying). Plus, the episode led to even more cliffhangers, like the next one on our list....

Season 6 episode 6 - 'Always Accountable'

After the whole Glenn debacle, we were all pretty concerned that our favourite Korean had been torn apart by walkers. But just as episode 6 is ending and Daryl tries to radio Rick, we hear a voice over the walkie talkie, which says 'Help'. It must be Glenn, right? Well.....it's never really resolved, but one things for sure, it wasn't Glenn. The Walking Dead wiki says it was Eugene, which sounds about right. Another pointless cliffhanger that just leaves us confused more than anything.

Season 6 episode 8 - 'Start to Finish'

Wow, season 6 has had some stinkers huh? I've included this one purely because it was so goddamn stupid. This is a kid who had previously never left his room because he was so scared of the walkers outside. So what's the first thing he does when he gets outside? Starts making a bunch of noise and drawing loads of attention! Although the following episode was one of the best that TWD have ever made, I feel it would've been even better had it included this part.

Season 2 episode 1 - 'What Lies Ahead'

Finally, a different season! And what annoyed me most about this cliffhanger was how unbelievable it was, and how predictable it was. A kid just got shot right in the chest with a hunting rifle, but it ended on a cliffhanger. He's fine guys. Plus, this episode led to easily the worst season of 'TWD', where everyone spends far too long moping about a farm, and Rick spends far too long sitting next to Carl and telling him soppy stories. Boring as hell.

There we have it, 4 cliffhangers that were just as bad as the finale. Chins up guys, at least we get to see someone getting their heads smashed in. Unless the person survives and we have to spend the whole of season 7 on a farm watching them slowly heal.
